A company is listed here when it meets at least one of the same applicability conditions as the company at the top of the page. Those conditions are computed from published fields, so the list changes when the fields change and never because somebody paid for a place in it.

Field by field
The order is by the number of applicability conditions a company shares with the company at the top of the page, then by the number of verified reviews it has on external review platforms, then alphabetically by name. No position here is paid for and none of it is an editorial score.

No company in this table has a value recorded for these fields: Signs a BAA / GDPR DPA, Onboarding, Crowd tester pool, Device lab. Those cells are empty because no source recorded the value, and an empty cell is not a statement that the company lacks the property.
A $5,000 floor against floors from $1,000 to $25,000
Minimum project size is one field on which the eight candidates part company with each other and with Software Secured, and it is not a field this page tabulates. Software Secured publishes a minimum project size of $5,000. ILoveMyQA publishes $1,000, one-fifth of that floor and the lowest published floor among the eight candidates. ScienceSoft publishes $5,000, matching Software Secured's floor exactly. Packetlabs and a1qa each publish $10,000, twice Software Secured's floor. QASource publishes $25,000, five times Software Secured's floor and the highest published floor among the eight candidates. Abstracta, QAlified and NetSPI publish no minimum project size.
Which engagement models the candidates publish
Software Secured publishes one engagement model, managed testing service. a1qa publishes four engagement models: staff augmentation, dedicated team, managed testing service and project work, the widest list among the eight candidates. QAlified publishes two models, managed testing service and project work. NetSPI also publishes two models, managed testing service and continuous testing program. ScienceSoft publishes one model, managed testing service, matching Software Secured's own published model. Packetlabs publishes one model, continuous testing program. QASource publishes two models, dedicated team and on-demand testing. Abstracta and ILoveMyQA publish no engagement model.
What the published case studies cover
Software Secured's own case studies cover mobile security penetration testing for CompanyCam, and building a mature security program without adding headcount for TrustRadius. Neither title states a numeric result. Six of the eight candidates publish case study material, and what that material covers is set out below.
ScienceSoft's case studies cover penetration testing for a healthcare software vendor and testing of workforce management software. Neither title states a numeric result. QASource's case study covers a cancer diagnostics provider's migration from a legacy CRM to Salesforce alongside QA testing. Its title states no numeric result. Abstracta's case studies cover reducing system response times for BBVA, running continuous tests to detect performance issues for Shutterfly, a mobile test automation framework for PedidosYa, and accelerating digital transformation in banking for Resona Bank Group. None of those titles states a numeric result.
QAlified's case studies cover an open earth scientific data system for NASA VEDA, mobile experience optimization for multichannel eCommerce, an open source DevOps tool for databases at Liquibase, AI testing for inquiry management at Surf Life Saving Queensland, and patient transfer management for CareMove and K2BHealth. None of those titles states a numeric result. a1qa's case studies cover AI-powered test automation for a retail client, DevOps and test automation for an international mobile operator association, and QA support for a US-based home appliance manufacturer. None of those titles states a numeric result. NetSPI is the one candidate whose case study titles carry a number: one covers an attack surface visibility result delivered for EAB Global within 15 seconds, and the other covers benefits navigation and cost savings at Quantum Health.
The tags the candidates carry that Software Secured does not
Nearshore for the USA is the only applicability tag on Software Secured's own profile, and it is the tag every candidate here shares with it. Five further tags appear across the eight candidates, and Software Secured carries none of them. Automation first is the widest of the five, reaching ScienceSoft, QASource, Abstracta, QAlified and a1qa. Security focus reaches ScienceSoft and NetSPI. Nearshore for the EU reaches ScienceSoft and a1qa. Performance engineering reaches QASource and Abstracta. Embedded team model reaches a1qa alone.
ScienceSoft and a1qa each carry three of those five, more than any other candidate, and they carry different threes: ScienceSoft holds Security focus where a1qa holds Embedded team model, and the two overlap on Automation first and Nearshore for the EU. Packetlabs and ILoveMyQA carry no applicability tag at all beyond the one they share with Software Secured. The condition behind each tag is set out in the ranking methodology.

Questions
- Secure code review is the line we actually buy. Which alternatives sell it as a service of its own?
- One of the eight alternatives lists secure code review as its own service, distinct from penetration testing. That alternative also lists general security testing and attack surface management. Its service list is the only one of the eight that covers all three items Software Secured itself lists: penetration testing, secure code review and red teaming. The remaining seven alternatives split between broad testing catalogs of seven services or more that never name secure code review, and narrower security lists that stop at penetration testing and red teaming. Which languages a review spans, or whether it is manual or tool-assisted, is not part of any published service list.
- Can a published tool list tell us anything about how an alternative does its security work?
- The framework names published across the eight alternatives are automation and functional testing tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium and JMeter repeat across several profiles. None of the eight names a penetration testing or vulnerability scanning tool in that field. Six of the eight publish a framework list at all, and two leave the field blank. This field describes the stacks used for functional and performance test automation; tools built for penetration testing or code review do not appear in it.
- Does a longer service list come with a longer tool list?
- A wider service list does line up with a wider framework list at one end of the group: the alternative with the widest service list, eleven services, also publishes the widest framework list, thirteen named tools. At the other end, the two alternatives built around penetration testing and red teaming, the same core focus as Software Secured, publish no framework list at all. A broad manual, automation and performance testing catalog carries a framework list in every case here. Between those two ends the two fields do not track each other, and no field records why a list was never published.

The rule behind this list and the basis of its order are on the methodology page. Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
