Who each one fits

Packetlabs works exclusively in offensive security, selling to buyers who already know an adversarial test is the deliverable. QAlified's practice covers a release end to end, with security testing sitting as a line inside that scope alongside manual and performance work. A buyer arriving with a scoped penetration-test requirement is shopping in Packetlabs's territory; a buyer assembling a QA program that happens to include a security pass is shopping in QAlified's.

The buyer assembling that program is also the buyer least equipped to judge the security line inside it. A specialist is judged on its whole business, since that is all it sells. A security line inside a wider offer is judged on its description alone unless something external speaks for it, and QAlified's page gives a buyer nothing of that kind to lean on. What fills the space is the buyer's own diligence, which costs time nobody budgeted for. Ask on the first call which methodology the security work follows and whether any outside body has reviewed it. Check the answer later against whichever entry eventually appears in the published certificates field.

A tag is attached when the company's published fields meet its condition, never by judgement. Both lists come from the same closed vocabulary, so a tag missing from one side means the condition was not met, not that nobody looked.

Packetlabs

Packetlabs meets no applicability condition in this catalog. That is a statement about what its published fields show, not about the company.

Both meet the conditions for Nearshore for the USA, so those conditions do not separate them.

Where the data runs out

Completeness against the 14 fields of the comparison checklist is 64% for Packetlabs and 79% for QAlified. A field is counted as filled when a source confirms it, so a gap means nobody published it.

Neither company has a value recorded for these fields: Client stages, Signs a BAA / GDPR DPA, Onboarding, Crowd tester pool, Device lab. The table shows those rows empty rather than estimating them.

Field definitions and the completeness checklist are on the methodology page. The sources behind each field are listed on the Packetlabs profile and the QAlified profile.

Questions

Which engagement models does each company's published profile list?
Packetlabs's published profile lists Continuous testing program as its engagement model, checked 2 September 2026. QAlified's published profile lists Managed testing service and Project work as its engagement models, checked 2 September 2026. A buyer wanting an ongoing subscription with rolling coverage matches the model Packetlabs lists. A buyer wanting a scoped engagement with a defined end date finds that option among QAlified's listed models instead.
How many people work at each company, based on its published profile?
Packetlabs's published profile puts its headcount at 51 to 200 people, sourced from its LinkedIn company page, checked 2 September 2026. QAlified's published profile puts its headcount at 11 to 50 people, sourced from its Clutch profile, checked 2 September 2026. The bands sit apart. A buyer weighing the two headcount bands can use them as a rough proxy for how many concurrent engagements each vendor's roster plausibly supports.

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
