Where these companies differ from QAwerk
This catalog does not know why a reader is looking for a replacement, and it does not guess. The list below is the set of fields on which the companies on this page actually differ from QAwerk.
- Delivery geography: 8 of the 8 candidates deliver from at least one country QAwerk does not list.
- Certifications: 1 of the 8 candidates hold a confirmed certification that QAwerk does not.
- Published rates: 5 of the 8 candidates publish an hourly rate, and QAwerk publishes one too, so the two can be read side by side.
- Applicability conditions the subject does not meet: Candidates on this page meet conditions QAwerk does not, among them Nearshore for the USA, Device lab coverage, Regulated industries.
- Published case studies: 8 of the 8 candidates publish at least one case study with a named metric, and QAwerk publishes 3.
The companies
A company is listed here when it meets at least one of the same applicability conditions as the company at the top of the page. Those conditions are computed from published fields, so the list changes when the fields change and never because somebody paid for a place in it.

Field by field
The order is by the number of applicability conditions a company shares with the company at the top of the page, then by the number of verified reviews it has on external review platforms, then alphabetically by name. No position here is paid for and none of it is an editorial score.

Minimum project size floors and engagement model counts move independently
QAwerk publishes a $10,000 minimum project size together with two engagement models, project work and dedicated team. a1qa publishes the same $10,000 floor, paired with four engagement models, staff augmentation, dedicated team, managed testing service and project work, the widest set among the eight candidates. QA Madness sets the lowest floor on this page, $1,000, together with three models: project work, dedicated team and staff augmentation. DeviQA also lists three models, managed testing service, staff augmentation and dedicated team, next to a $5,000 floor, the same floor ScienceSoft and QA Wolf publish. ScienceSoft pairs that floor with a single model, managed testing service, and QA Wolf pairs it with a single model, dedicated team. Testlio publishes the highest floor here, $75,000, next to two models, crowdtesting and dedicated team. appmatics GmbH names the same pair of models QAwerk does, dedicated team and project work, without publishing a minimum project size. BetterQA publishes neither a minimum project size nor an engagement model. A wide model list does not pair with a low floor on this page: a1qa publishes four engagement models at the same $10,000 floor QAwerk publishes.
How the eight candidates' headquarters divide across four countries
QAwerk is headquartered in Ukraine, and none of the eight candidates shares that headquarters country. The eight split across four other countries. The United States hosts four of the eight: ScienceSoft, a1qa, Testlio and QA Wolf. Poland hosts two: DeviQA and QA Madness. Germany hosts one, appmatics GmbH, and Romania hosts one, BetterQA. Unlike the United States and Poland, which each host more than one candidate, Germany and Romania each host exactly one, and Ukraine, QAwerk's own country, hosts none of the eight. A shared headquarters country does not mean two companies deliver work from the same locations: headquarters marks where a company is incorporated, and delivery location is recorded as a separate field.
Case topics move from a Squarespace acquisition to a 3D CAD validation project
QAwerk's published cases include manual and cross-platform testing for Unfold, later acquired by Squarespace, and automated regression and smoke testing for Evolv. Case material among the candidates spans a different set of subjects. DeviQA's cases include Abbott Laboratories' web and API automation for a glucose monitoring system, and Arklign's QA process built from scratch for a dental case-management platform. QA Madness's cases include WordPress e-commerce testing for Isadora Digital Agency. ScienceSoft's cases include penetration testing for a healthcare software vendor. a1qa's cases include AI-powered test automation for decreased release time in retail. appmatics GmbH's cases include manual testing for Eurowings Digital since 2015 and API testing for BVG's app. BetterQA's cases include healthcare AI testing for AdviNow Medical and 3D CAD engineering validation for Qnect. Testlio's cases include in-market payment testing for checkout flows and biometric release testing at scale. QA Wolf's cases include test coverage gains during a replatforming project for Thirty Madison. Case material records the kind of work a company has chosen to document in public, and a client reading it learns what that work looked like rather than how much of it there was.

Questions
- AR/VR testing and blockchain testing are why we signed. Do those two lines survive a move?
- AR/VR testing appears on none of the eight alternative service lists. Blockchain testing appears on one alternative service list. Compliance testing appears on two alternative service lists. AI system testing appears on two alternative service lists as well. Accessibility testing sits at the far end of the same range, published by all eight alternatives. The sixteen services QAwerk names split into a common core that every alternative already covers and a tail of specialisms that largely does not survive the move.
- Are there applicability conditions the alternatives clear that our current vendor does not?
- Device lab coverage, regulated industries and nearshore for the USA all turn up among the alternatives, and QAwerk meets none of those three. Device lab coverage asks for a published device lab of 100 real devices or more, with a source. Regulated industries asks for at least two verified certificates from ISO 13485, HITRUST CSF, PCI QSA and ISO/IEC 27001. Nearshore for the USA asks for at least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America. Each of those three is held by a different part of the set, so no single alternative brings all three.
- We want testers sitting inside our own team. What has to be true of a profile before it can claim that?
- Embedded team model is met when the dedicated team engagement model is offered and at least one case study is published. Six of the eight alternatives meet that pair of requirements. The two that do not meet it fail on the engagement model rather than on the case study. What the condition records is a published contract shape, and it says nothing about where a tester physically sits or who writes their objectives.

The rule behind this list and the basis of its order are on the methodology page. Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
