A Canada delivery location, tracked apart from headquarters

The geography axis groups companies by delivery location, the country where testing work is carried out, separate from the country of a company's registered headquarters. Twelve companies on this page record at least one delivery location in Canada. Of those 12, 6 also record a Canada headquarters, and the other 6 record a headquarters in a different country: 3 in the United States, and one each in Vietnam, Germany and the United Kingdom. A Canada headquarters does not place a company on this page by itself, since membership depends only on the delivery-location field. A Canada delivery location does not confirm which Canadian city or region a company delivers from either; that detail sits on the company's own profile.

One tag reaches all twelve companies, a second reaches a quarter of them

All 12 companies on this page carry the Nearshore for the USA tag, whose condition covers a region that extends well beyond Canada. Every company that qualifies for this page through a Canada delivery location also satisfies that broader regional condition. A narrower tag, Nearshore for the EU, reaches 3 of the 12: GlobalStep, imbus AG and Side. Each of the three also records a delivery location in the region that tag covers, separate from the Canadian location recorded on this page. The remaining 9 of the 12 record no delivery location in that second region, which is the whole of what their absence says here: it does not rule out delivery work elsewhere outside the Americas.

Six companies carry no tag beyond the page-wide one

Six of the 12 companies on this page carry only the Nearshore for the USA tag and no other applicability tag tracked here: Packetlabs, Software Secured, ILoveMyQA, CyStack, Fable and TestLauncher. That is exactly half of the composition. The other half, also six companies, each carry at least one further tag beyond the page-wide one.

Two companies hold three tags each, four others hold two

NetSPI carries Security focus alongside Nearshore for the USA, two tags in total. PLATO carries Accessibility specialists alongside Nearshore for the USA, also two tags. GlobalStep and imbus AG, already named above for Nearshore for the EU, each carry that tag alongside Nearshore for the USA, two tags apiece as well. Four companies on this page hold exactly two tags each: NetSPI, PLATO, GlobalStep and imbus AG.

Two companies hold three tags each, more than any other company on this page. Abstracta carries Automation first and Performance engineering together with Nearshore for the USA. Side carries Enterprises together with Nearshore for the EU and Nearshore for the USA. The Enterprises tag requires a verified ISO/IEC 27001 or SOC 2 certificate, a team size band of 201 to 500 or larger, and a named client that is a publicly traded company, each with a source. One company on this page meets all three at once. Abstracta and Side are the only two companies on this page whose tag count reaches three.

Where profile fields are filled in, and where the gaps run widest

A certificate is verified for 4 of the 12 companies on this page, and the certificate field carries no published value for the other 8. A framework is recorded for 3 of the 12, leaving the field empty for 9. A client stage is recorded for 4 of the 12, leaving the field empty for 8. An engagement model is recorded for 5 of the 12, leaving the field empty for 7. A published case study appears on 6 of the 12 profiles, and the field is empty for the other 6.

A named client appears on 10 of the 12 profiles. The field is empty for the remaining 2, a smaller gap than on any other field in this composition summary. Two fields carry the widest gap of any field tracked here, each empty for 10 of the 12: signing a BAA or GDPR data processing agreement, and the published hourly rate range.

External reviews on a named platform are recorded for 7 of the 12 companies, leaving 5 with no recorded entry. Of the 7 recorded entries, 6 report a positive review count and 1 reports a recorded count of zero. A recorded count of zero is not an unrecorded field. A recorded count of zero means a review platform entry exists and states no reviews so far. An unrecorded field means no entry has been published on this point at all.

How this ranking was put together

Membership is computed from the profile, not chosen: companies appear here when they have a delivery location in one of the countries Canada covers, as their own profile states. Position in a ranking cannot be bought. Paid options are limited to the extended profile, labelled sponsor slots and lead forms, and none of them affect tags or order.

The table compares the fields that decide this axis: delivery locations, published rates, team size, plus the number of verified reviews on external platforms. Rates, minimum project size and onboarding time carry the source they came from next to the value.

  • Nearshore for the USA: At least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America.
  • Nearshore for the EU: At least one delivery location in the EU or the EEA, or in Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova.
  • Accessibility specialists: Accessibility testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports an accessibility conformance metric.
  • Automation first: Test automation is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a coverage or regression time metric.
  • Enterprises: A verified ISO/IEC 27001 or SOC 2 certificate, a published team size of 201-500 or larger, and at least one named client that is a publicly traded company, each with a source. A company that publishes no team size does not carry this tag.
  • Performance engineering: Performance testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a throughput or latency metric.
  • Security focus: Security testing is offered, together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and at least one published case study.

The criteria for this axis are on the methodology page, together with field definitions and the rule for editorial order. Changes of order are recorded in the changelog.

Questions

Our budget is small and we want the work delivered from Canada. What is the smallest engagement anyone will quote?
Published floors start at one thousand US dollars. Five profiles here publish a minimum project size: one sets it at a thousand dollars, two at five thousand and two at ten thousand. That figure is the smallest engagement a company states it will quote, and the gap between the lowest and the highest published floor is tenfold. It is a separate number from an hourly rate and from a contract total, so it fixes the entry point of a first engagement and nothing about its length.
We need an accessibility audit that ends in a conformance report. Does a company listing accessibility testing already publish that kind of result?
Only one of them does. Four profiles delivering from Canada list accessibility testing among their services, and one of those four also publishes a case study reporting a conformance metric, which is what the Accessibility specialists condition reads. The other three list the service with no published metric behind it. Across this composition the service line appears four times and a conformance figure once, and for this particular service that figure is the shape the deliverable itself takes.
We want testers working inside our own team, delivered from Canada. Does anyone publish that arrangement?
Nobody here publishes it. Among the profiles that name an engagement model at all, managed testing is named by three, continuous testing by two and on-demand testing by one, and a single company names managed and continuous testing together. Staff augmentation, a dedicated team and project work appear on none of them. A buyer who wants people seconded into their own process therefore finds no published match, and a blank model field records an unstated arrangement rather than a refused one.

How to choose a vendor on this axis

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
