Nearshore for the EU is the largest tag in this composition, and it splits by automation

Nearshore for the EU reaches 12 of the 29 companies in this composition, the largest group on this page. ScienceSoft, DeviQA, QA Madness, a1qa and QAwerk carry this tag together with Automation first, five companies where EU-based delivery and automation testing overlap. The other seven companies that carry Nearshore for the EU, UNGUESS, QATestLab, White Test Lab, SnoopGame, QA Mentor, GlobalStep and Testronic, do not carry Automation first in this composition. Automation first itself reaches 10 of the 29 companies. The five that hold it without Nearshore for the EU are BugRaptors, QAble, Frugal Testing, Moolya and ImpactQA.

Nearshore for the USA sits almost entirely inside the EU group

Nearshore for the USA reaches 5 of the 29 companies in this composition. Four of the five, ScienceSoft, a1qa, SnoopGame and GlobalStep, also carry Nearshore for the EU. ILoveMyQA is the only company in this composition that carries Nearshore for the USA without also carrying Nearshore for the EU.

Security focus reaches its companies through penetration testing

Security focus reaches 5 of the 29 companies in this composition: ScienceSoft, DeviQA, QA Madness, QATestLab and QAwerk. None of these five holds a verified certificate in this composition; each meets the tag through the criterion's penetration-testing route. Four of the five, ScienceSoft, DeviQA, QA Madness and QAwerk, also carry Automation first. QATestLab is the only company with Security focus that does not.

Embedded team model overlaps with automation everywhere but one company

Embedded team model reaches 7 of the 29 companies in this composition. Six of the seven, DeviQA, QA Madness, a1qa, QAwerk, QAble and ImpactQA, also carry Automation first. SnoopGame is the only company with Embedded team model that does not carry Automation first in this composition.

Device lab coverage splits between nearshore delivery and neither

Device lab coverage reaches 6 of the 29 companies in this composition: DeviQA, QATestLab, SnoopGame, PLUS QA, iXie Gaming and Latis Global. Three of the six, DeviQA, QATestLab and SnoopGame, also carry Nearshore for the EU. PLUS QA, iXie Gaming and Latis Global carry no other applicability tag in this composition.

The smallest groups stay small even when they combine with other tags

Crowdtesting at scale reaches 2 of the 29 companies in this composition. UNGUESS carries this tag together with Nearshore for the EU; Digivante carries no other applicability tag in this composition. Fast onboarding reaches a separate 2 of the 29 companies: QATestLab and CHEQ Systems. QATestLab combines Fast onboarding with Device lab coverage, Performance engineering, Security focus and Nearshore for the EU, five tags in total. DeviQA is the only other company in this composition that also carries five tags; every other company in this composition carries four tags or fewer. CHEQ Systems carries no other applicability tag. Performance engineering also reaches 2 of the 29 companies, BugRaptors and QATestLab. BugRaptors combines Performance engineering with Automation first only.

Six companies carry no applicability tag, and most verified certificates sit among them

Six companies in this composition carry no applicability tag on this page: Q-Pros, Coderio, Kualitatem, Lotus Quality Assurance, Testbytes and Zoonou. Four companies in this composition hold at least one verified certificate, and three of those four are among these six untagged companies. A verified certificate is therefore no route into a tag group here: not one of the nine tags on this page reads the certificate field on its own, and the only certificate holder that carries any tag at all reaches its two groups through delivery locations and a published case study.

How this ranking was put together

Membership is computed from the profile, not chosen: companies appear here when they list Compatibility testing among their services, as their own profile states. Position in a ranking cannot be bought. Paid options are limited to the extended profile, labelled sponsor slots and lead forms, and none of them affect tags or order.

The table compares the fields that decide this axis: frameworks, case studies, published rates, plus the number of verified reviews on external platforms. Rates, minimum project size and onboarding time carry the source they came from next to the value.

  • Nearshore for the EU: At least one delivery location in the EU or the EEA, or in Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova.
  • Automation first: Test automation is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a coverage or regression time metric.
  • Embedded team model: The dedicated team engagement model is offered, and at least one published case study.
  • Device lab coverage: A published device lab of 100 real devices or more, with a source.
  • Nearshore for the USA: At least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America.
  • Security focus: Security testing is offered, together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and at least one published case study.
  • Crowdtesting at scale: The crowdtesting engagement model is offered, and a published tester pool of 10,000 people or more, with a source.
  • Fast onboarding: A published onboarding time of 14 days or less, with a source.
  • Performance engineering: Performance testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a throughput or latency metric.

The criteria for this axis are on the methodology page, together with field definitions and the rule for editorial order. Changes of order are recorded in the changelog.

Questions

Does a published hourly rate indicate how wide a browser and device matrix a compatibility test will cover?
A rate multiplies by hours spent, not by the number of browser, operating system and resolution combinations a test plan checks. The catalog records one blended rate and a minimum project size only, with no field for how wide a matrix that rate is expected to cover. Two companies quoting the same rate can plan to check a handful of combinations or several dozen, and that difference never shows up next to the number. A quote states the width; the published rate alone does not.
If a company clears the published device lab threshold, does that guarantee its lab includes the older devices most likely to break compatibility?
No. The threshold only counts devices, a published fleet of 100 real devices or more with a source, and it says nothing about their age or operating system versions. A lab built from 100 current flagship phones and a lab built from 100 older handsets running outdated operating systems clear the same count, yet compatibility defects tend to surface on the older hardware, where support for the current operating system has already lapsed. Meeting the threshold shows scale; it does not show which systems the lab can actually reproduce.
Browsers and operating systems ship new versions on their own schedules. Does a profile's last-checked date confirm that its browser and OS coverage is still current?
No. A last-checked date covers the whole profile as one unit; it does not confirm that a browser or operating system list inside it was verified on that same date. Browsers ship new versions several times a year and operating systems roughly once a year, so a list compiled at the last full review can already be a version behind by the time a buyer reads it. A buyer testing against current releases should confirm the exact version numbers with the company before relying on the profile date.

How to choose a vendor on this axis

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
