What counts as performance testing here
Every company on this page states performance testing as a service it sells, drawn from its own site. The performance engineering tag adds a second condition on top of that claim: at least one published case study reporting a throughput or latency metric. 11 of the 60 companies meet both parts. The other 49 state performance testing as a service without a metric-backed case study attached to a public source.
Delivery region, headquarters, and two different patterns
Nearshore for the EU is the widest tag on this page: 26 companies report at least one delivery location in the EU, the EEA, Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova. Automation first follows at 24. Nearshore for the USA, built on a delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America, covers 15.
Headquarters counts run differently from delivery counts. The United States accounts for 16 of the 60 headquarters, India for 10, Romania and Germany for 5 each, and Poland, the United Kingdom and Canada for 3 each.
Checking the two nearshore tags against headquarters turns up two different patterns. Of the 26 companies carrying the EU tag, 20 are headquartered inside the region the tag describes. The other 6 qualify through a delivery location apart from a headquarters elsewhere: half of them in the United States, and one each in the United Kingdom, India and Argentina. For the Americas tag the pattern flips: of the 15 companies carrying it, only 7 are headquartered in Canada or South America. The remaining 8 qualify the same way, through a delivery location apart from headquarters elsewhere: half of them in the United States, and one each in Estonia, Vietnam, Germany and Spain.
Two close tag counts, two companies in both
Embedded team model applies to 12 companies on this page, performance engineering to 11. The first requires the dedicated team engagement model plus a published case study. The second requires a throughput or latency metric in a published case study. The two conditions test different things, and the two groups they produce overlap by exactly two companies: TestFort and QASource carry both tags, and no other company on this page does.
Where the narrow tags sit
Security focus, requiring security testing alongside either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate plus a case study, covers 7 companies. Device lab coverage, requiring a published lab of 100 real devices or more with a source, covers 5. Accessibility specialists and fast onboarding each cover 2 companies. Fast onboarding needs a published onboarding time of 14 days or less with a source; QATestLab and CHEQ Systems meet it. Regulated industries, needing at least two verified certificates from ISO 13485, HITRUST CSF, PCI QSA and ISO/IEC 27001, covers one company on this page: BetterQA.
What the certificates on this page actually cover
Confirmed certificates sit on 9 of the 60 profiles. BetterQA holds ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. imbus AG holds ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001. SHIFT ASIA and Redsauce each hold ISO/IEC 27001. Q-Pros, Kualitatem and MTP hold TMMi. iBeta holds ISO/IEC 17025, and Zoonou holds CREST. None of these nine standards certifies performance or load testing itself. Each certifies an audited process in a different part of the business.
How this ranking was put together
Membership is computed from the profile, not chosen: companies appear here when they list Performance testing among their services, as their own profile states. Position in a ranking cannot be bought. Paid options are limited to the extended profile, labelled sponsor slots and lead forms, and none of them affect tags or order.
The table compares the fields that decide this axis: frameworks, case studies, published rates, plus the number of verified reviews on external platforms. Rates, minimum project size and onboarding time carry the source they came from next to the value.
- Nearshore for the EU: At least one delivery location in the EU or the EEA, or in Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova.
- Automation first: Test automation is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a coverage or regression time metric.
- Nearshore for the USA: At least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America.
- Embedded team model: The dedicated team engagement model is offered, and at least one published case study.
- Performance engineering: Performance testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a throughput or latency metric.
- Security focus: Security testing is offered, together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and at least one published case study.
- Device lab coverage: A published device lab of 100 real devices or more, with a source.
- Accessibility specialists: Accessibility testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports an accessibility conformance metric.
- Fast onboarding: A published onboarding time of 14 days or less, with a source.
- Regulated industries: At least two verified certificates from ISO 13485, HITRUST CSF, PCI QSA and ISO/IEC 27001.
The criteria for this axis are on the methodology page, together with field definitions and the rule for editorial order. Changes of order are recorded in the changelog.
Questions
- If a company profile does not list a specific load testing tool such as JMeter, k6, Gatling or LoadRunner, what does that leave unclear about the work?
- It leaves the actual test method undocumented: the tool decides what a load test can measure and how its result gets reported, and a JMeter script does not exercise the same layer of a system as a k6 script. An unfilled framework field does not mean no tool is used, only that none is published with a source. That field is unfilled for 19 of the 60 companies on this page, leaving their method for the work undescribed on the profile itself.
- Does a published hourly rate show what a performance testing engagement costs?
- Not by itself. A load testing engagement runs in short, uneven bursts: an environment to prepare, a run measured in hours, then days spent reading results. Every rate on this page is recorded once per company as a single blended figure covering every service the company sells. The field is blank for 24 of the 60 companies here. A quoted hourly number sets a unit price. It does not say how many hours that cycle takes or which roles fill them.
- Does a bigger team size mean a company has more people doing performance testing specifically?
- Team size alone does not show that. The team size field counts everyone at a company, across every service it sells; it does not isolate the staff who work on load testing. Among the 11 companies carrying the performance engineering tag on this page, team size spans four different bands, from 11-50 up to 1000+, so the same tag sits on companies of different scale. A company in the 1000+ band can run performance testing with a small practice, and no field on the profile records that split.
- If a case study reports a throughput or latency number, will the same number show up on my own system?
- No. A throughput or latency figure is measured against one architecture under one load profile built for that engagement, and a different buyer's hardware and traffic are unlikely to match either. What a buyer can reuse is the setup behind the figure: which load profile was chosen, over what duration, and against which part of the system. A metric-backed case study shows that a company can design a measurement and report a result, and that skill carries into a new engagement even when the number itself does not.

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
