Nearshore for the EU is the largest applicability tag in this composition

Fourteen of the 27 companies in this composition carry the Nearshore for the EU tag, the largest applicability group on this page. Five of the 14, QA Madness, Luxe Quality, a1qa, andagon people GmbH and appmatics GmbH, also carry the Automation first tag. The other nine members of the group do not.

Automation first splits four ways by delivery region

Twelve of the 27 companies carry the Automation first tag. Four of the twelve, QA Madness, Luxe Quality, andagon people GmbH and appmatics GmbH, combine it with Nearshore for the EU and no other delivery tag. Three of the twelve, QASource, Abstracta and Software Testing Bureau, combine it with Nearshore for the USA and no other delivery tag. One company, a1qa, carries Automation first together with both nearshore tags. The remaining four, BugRaptors, SHIFT ASIA, 2i and ImpactQA, carry Automation first without either nearshore tag.

Headquarters location does not settle either nearshore tag

All three companies headquartered in Germany, andagon people GmbH, appmatics GmbH and Qytera Quality GmbH, carry the Nearshore for the EU tag. Two of the three companies headquartered in the United Kingdom, 2i and Zoonou, carry no nearshore tag; the third, TestFort, carries Nearshore for the EU. Among the nine companies headquartered in the United States, three, ImpactQA, Coderio and TestingXperts, carry no nearshore tag; the other six carry at least one of the two.

Team size in this composition clusters in one bracket

The 51-200 headcount bracket covers eight of the 27 companies, more than any other bracket recorded on this page. Five companies, a1qa, GlobalStep, QASource, Indium Software and TestingXperts, report a headcount of 1,000 or more. Six companies report a headcount of 501 to 1,000, and five report a headcount of 11 to 50. The remaining three companies report a headcount of 201 to 500.

The smallest tag groups do not overlap with each other

Security focus applies to three companies, QA Madness, QATestLab and SHIFT ASIA, and all three also carry at least one other tag on this page. Device lab coverage applies to two companies, QATestLab and SnoopGame, and both also carry Nearshore for the EU. Accessibility specialists applies to a single company, PLATO, and Fast onboarding applies to a different single company, QATestLab; the two single-company tags do not share a member. Five companies in this composition, Indium Software, Coderio, TestingXperts, TestVagrant and Zoonou, carry no applicability tag at all.

Field coverage thins out unevenly across the composition

The rate field is filled for 17 of the 27 companies and blank for the other ten. Published case studies appear for 19 of the 27 companies, and at least one named framework appears for 18. The external reviews field is filled for 17 of the 27 companies, but only 16 of those report at least one verified review; the seventeenth carries a filled field with a review count of zero, which is a different fact from the field being empty. The industries field is filled for 25 of the 27 companies, the highest coverage among the fields discussed here. None of the 27 companies in this composition has a filled Signs a BAA / GDPR DPA field.

How this ranking was put together

Membership is computed from the profile, not chosen: companies appear here when they list QA consulting among their services, as their own profile states. Position in a ranking cannot be bought. Paid options are limited to the extended profile, labelled sponsor slots and lead forms, and none of them affect tags or order.

The table compares the fields that decide this axis: frameworks, case studies, published rates, plus the number of verified reviews on external platforms. Rates, minimum project size and onboarding time carry the source they came from next to the value.

  • Nearshore for the USA: At least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America.
  • Performance engineering: Performance testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a throughput or latency metric.
  • Security focus: Security testing is offered, together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and at least one published case study.

The criteria for this axis are on the methodology page, together with field definitions and the rule for editorial order. Changes of order are recorded in the changelog.

Questions

What does a QA consulting engagement actually deliver, if the outcome isn't a batch of executed tests?
A QA consulting engagement is scoped as advisory work: a test strategy document or a process redesign that someone else carries out afterward. At least one engagement model is published for 21 of the 27 companies in this group, and that record describes how the relationship is structured, not what artifact the client walks away with. A buyer confirming the deliverable should ask for the format of the final output, a written report or a prioritized backlog, before the engagement is scoped.
Who is responsible for putting a QA consultant's recommendations into practice after the engagement ends?
Implementation sits with the client, or with a separate execution vendor, once a fixed-scope consulting engagement closes. Eight of the 27 companies in this group carry the Embedded team model tag, marking a dedicated team relationship combined with a published case study, a different commercial setup from a one-time assessment. Which of the two arrangements a vendor is offering on a given project is settled in the statement of work, and the published record of engagement models does not separate them.
How is the value of a QA consulting engagement measured once the client's own team is the one catching defects?
Success is generally tracked against process metrics agreed at scoping, such as a lower escape rate or shorter onboarding time for new testers, since the engagement itself does not run the tests that catch defects. Twenty-two of the 27 companies in this group name at least one client, and a named-client record is the closest published evidence of an engagement's outcome once testing responsibility sits with the client's own staff. Which metric closes the engagement is a term of the contract, and a profile records the client, never what happened to that client's escape rate after the consultant left.
Of the companies in this group with a verified certificate, how many also publish an hourly rate?
Three of the 27 companies in this group carry a verified certificate. One of those three also publishes an hourly rate, and the other two do not list a rate at all. The two facts come from different parts of a profile, so a certificate on this page does not predict a published rate.

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
