The companies
A company is listed here when it meets at least one of the same applicability conditions as the company at the top of the page. Those conditions are computed from published fields, so the list changes when the fields change and never because somebody paid for a place in it.

Field by field
The order is by the number of applicability conditions a company shares with the company at the top of the page, then by the number of verified reviews it has on external review platforms, then alphabetically by name. No position here is paid for and none of it is an editorial score.

No company in this table has a value recorded for these fields: Onboarding, Crowd tester pool, Device lab. Those cells are empty because no source recorded the value, and an empty cell is not a statement that the company lacks the property.
Where the minimum project size floor sits
QAlified publishes no minimum project size in this catalog. Abstracta is the only candidate that publishes none either. The other seven candidates each state a floor. Software Testing Bureau publishes $1,000, the lowest of the eight. ScienceSoft and QA Wolf each publish $5,000. a1qa and Packetlabs each publish $10,000. QASource publishes $25,000. Sofka Technologies publishes $50,000, the highest floor among the eight and fifty times Software Testing Bureau's floor. Sofka Technologies' floor is also five times the $10,000 floor that a1qa and Packetlabs each publish.
Engagement models beyond QAlified's two
QAlified publishes two engagement models in this catalog, Managed testing service and Project work. The eight candidates on this page publish four additional labels between them. Staff augmentation appears on three of the eight candidates, more of them than any other label absent from QAlified's own list. Dedicated team, On-demand testing and Continuous testing program each appear on one candidate. Two of the eight candidates publish no engagement model in this catalog.
Case studies that carry a named metric
In QAlified's own published case studies, the engagements for Instaleap, Liquibase and Surf Life Saving Queensland name a metric. The engagements for NASA VEDA and CareMove describe the work without naming one. Among the eight candidates, six name a metric in every case study they publish. Abstracta names a metric in some of its published case studies but not in all of them; the Shutterfly engagement is among the ones that report no metric. One of the eight candidates has not published a case study in this catalog, so the metric distinction does not apply to it.
How named clients connect to published case studies
QAlified names eight clients in this catalog, and five of them appear inside a published case study. The other three, MAPFRE, Ceibal and Montes del Plata, are named in a GeneXus news article rather than a case study page. Four of the eight candidates name a client inside every case study they publish: Abstracta, Sofka Technologies, Software Testing Bureau and QA Wolf. ScienceSoft does not name a buyer inside its published case studies; they describe the buyer only in generic terms, and its four named clients, helpLine B.V., Chiron Health, Boubyan Bank and Unibank, come from a separate testimonials page instead. QASource's published case work does not name the buyer either; its one named client, DIY Media Group, comes from its Clutch profile rather than from a case study. a1qa does not name a client inside any of its published case studies; its three named clients come from a clients page and a blog post. Packetlabs' two named clients, HubSpot and ICES (Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences), come from dedicated case-study pages on its own site that sit outside the case-studies field.

Questions
- Public sector work is most of what we buy. Does that survive a move away from QAlified?
- Public sector appears on one industry list among the eight alternatives. Healthcare appears on all eight lists. Banking appears on all eight as well. Ecommerce is the fourth sector QAlified names, and it is published widely too. Three of the four sectors on the subject's own list are close to universal among the alternatives, and the fourth comes down to a single candidate. A move decided on the three common sectors leaves eight options open; the same move decided on the fourth leaves one.
- Our security review will not accept a vendor that merely lists security testing. What does the Security focus tag test for?
- Security focus requires security testing to be offered together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and it requires at least one published case study on top of that. A single alternative meets the whole combination. The other seven fail it on one of the three parts rather than on the service line itself. The tag is a compound test, and a profile that lists security testing on its own clears none of it.
- Nearshore for the USA and Nearshore for the EU look like opposites. Are they?
- Both conditions read the same field, delivery locations, and neither one excludes the other. Nearshore for the USA is met by at least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America. Nearshore for the EU is met by at least one delivery location in the EU or the EEA, or in Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova. Seven of the eight alternatives meet the first condition. Two of the eight meet the second. With eight candidates and those two counts, at least one alternative holds both tags at once.

The rule behind this list and the basis of its order are on the methodology page. Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
