Twenty companies, nine headquarters countries

A dedicated team engagement means a named group works for one client only, under a rolling contract rather than a fixed end date, with its own lead rather than a shared pool of testers. This composition spans nine headquarters countries. One of the nine accounts for seven of the 20 companies, more than any other. Three further countries hold more than one company each, ranging from two to four. The remaining five countries each host exactly one company in this composition.

The four companies without the Embedded team model tag

Embedded team model is the tag with the widest reach on this page, covering 16 of the 20 companies. Its condition adds a published case study on top of listing the dedicated team model itself. QA Mentor, Digi Test Lab, QAValue and Zoonou are the four companies without it. QA Mentor, Digi Test Lab and QAValue each carry the Nearshore for the EU tag and no other tag. They are the only three companies on this page limited to a single applicability tag. Zoonou carries no applicability tag at all, the only company on this page in that position. Zoonou is also the only company on this page with a verified certificate on record, a CREST certification. A certificate on its own does not satisfy the condition for any tag on this page.

Where Automation first and Nearshore for the EU overlap

Automation first reaches 11 of the 20 companies. Nearshore for the EU reaches 12. Five companies carry both tags: DeviQA, QA Madness, a1qa, QAwerk and appmatics GmbH. The other six holders of Automation first, QA Wolf, QASource, QAble, 2i, ImpactQA and QualityAI, do not carry Nearshore for the EU. Security focus reaches three companies: DeviQA, QA Madness and QAwerk. All three sit inside the five-company overlap above, so the tag reaches no company outside that group. Performance engineering reaches two companies, TestFort and QASource, and the pair splits across the two sides of this overlap. TestFort carries Nearshore for the EU without Automation first. QASource carries Automation first without Nearshore for the EU.

Device labs, USA delivery and a single crowdtesting tag

Five companies carry Embedded team model without Automation first: Testlio, TestFort, SnoopGame, Ubertesters and QualityMinds. Nearshore for the USA reaches three companies: QASource, a1qa and SnoopGame. Two of the three, a1qa and SnoopGame, also carry Nearshore for the EU. QASource does not carry Nearshore for the EU. Device lab coverage reaches three companies: DeviQA, SnoopGame and Ubertesters. Ubertesters is also the only company on this page carrying the Crowdtesting at scale tag. DeviQA and SnoopGame each carry the Nearshore for the EU tag. Ubertesters carries no Nearshore tag on this page. Counting every applicability tag on this page, DeviQA carries five, more than any other company here. Five other companies carry four tags each, and no company on this page sits between four and five.

Gaps that don't close at the same rate

Recorded fields leave gaps of different sizes across this composition of 20. Industries carries no recorded value for 1 company, a smaller gap than any other field listed here. Named clients carries no recorded value for 2 companies. Case studies carry no recorded value for 4. Frameworks carry no recorded value for 6. Published rate and external reviews on outside platforms are tied for the next gap, unrecorded for 7 each. Client stage is unrecorded for 12. Certificates and a signed BAA or GDPR data processing agreement are tied for the widest gap, unrecorded for 19 each. An unrecorded field marks the absence of a published answer, not a finding about what a company delivers on a contract. This catalog's criteria for recording an unpublished field treat every gap in this list the same way, regardless of which field it falls in.

How this ranking was put together

Membership is computed from the profile, not chosen: companies appear here when they offer a dedicated team as an engagement model, as their own profile states. Position in a ranking cannot be bought. Paid options are limited to the extended profile, labelled sponsor slots and lead forms, and none of them affect tags or order.

The table compares the fields that decide this axis: published rates, minimum project, onboarding, plus the number of verified reviews on external platforms. Rates, minimum project size and onboarding time carry the source they came from next to the value.

  • Embedded team model: The dedicated team engagement model is offered, and at least one published case study.
  • Nearshore for the EU: At least one delivery location in the EU or the EEA, or in Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova.
  • Automation first: Test automation is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a coverage or regression time metric.
  • Device lab coverage: A published device lab of 100 real devices or more, with a source.
  • Nearshore for the USA: At least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America.
  • Security focus: Security testing is offered, together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and at least one published case study.

  • Crowdtesting at scale: The crowdtesting engagement model is offered, and a published tester pool of 10,000 people or more, with a source.

The criteria for this axis are on the methodology page, together with field definitions and the rule for editorial order. Changes of order are recorded in the changelog.

Questions

In a dedicated team engagement, who manages the team day to day and who is accountable for the results, the client or the vendor?
A dedicated team is defined here as a named team working for one client only, with its own lead, on a rolling contract. That definition covers who the team serves and how long the contract runs. It leaves open who assigns the team's daily tasks and who is accountable when a defect reaches production. The two neighboring models in this catalog settle that question inside their own definitions: staff augmentation has individual testers report inside the client's process, and managed testing service has the vendor own the test process against agreed service levels. Dedicated team sits between the two without assigning either role, so a buyer weighing it should confirm, before signing, who assigns work day to day and who is accountable for the result.
Does a dedicated team engagement guarantee that the same individual people stay assigned to the account for its duration?
The dedicated team model is defined here as a named team with its own lead on a rolling contract, and continuity of the individual people on that team is not part of what that definition covers. No field in this composition records staff turnover on an account or a notice period for replacing a departing team member. A rolling contract keeps the engagement itself running without a fixed end date; it does not, on its own, keep the same names on the roster from one month to the next.
Is a dedicated team what these companies are built around, or one option on a longer menu?
For all but two of them, one option among several. Two companies in this composition list the dedicated team model and nothing else; ten list two models, five list three, two list four and one lists five. The field records the menu a company will quote from. Which of those models its delivery is built around stays unpublished, and so does how many accounts it currently runs as standing teams against how many it staffs individually. A buyer looking for a vendor whose delivery is built on standing teams, rather than one that assembles a team on request, finds two profiles here where the published record narrows that way and eighteen where it does not.
If a dedicated team vendor carries the Embedded team model tag, does the case study behind that tag describe a dedicated team engagement specifically?
Not necessarily. The tag's own condition asks for two separate things: that the dedicated team model is offered, and that at least one case study is published in the company's profile. The wording does not require that published case study to describe a dedicated team engagement itself; it could describe project work or another model the same company also offers. A buyer who wants proof of dedicated team delivery, and not just proof that the company publishes case studies at all, needs to read the case study itself instead of relying on the tag alone.

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
