Tag combinations across the eight companies

Automation first covers seven of the eight companies profiled on this page. ILoveMyQA is the only company without this tag, and it is also the only company on this page carrying just one applicability tag, Nearshore for the USA. Three companies carry four applicability tags each, more than any other company on this page: QA Madness, a1qa and BetterQA.

Where the EU and security tags sit

All four companies tagged Nearshore for the EU, QA Madness, Luxe Quality, a1qa and BetterQA, also carry Automation first, so the group tagged Nearshore for the EU sits entirely inside the group tagged Automation first on this page. The two companies tagged Security focus, QA Madness and BetterQA, are both also tagged Nearshore for the EU. a1qa is the only company on this page tagged with both Nearshore for the EU and Nearshore for the USA.

Companies without a nearshore tag

Three companies on this page carry neither Nearshore for the EU nor Nearshore for the USA: QualityLogic, BugRaptors and QAble. Embedded team model applies to three companies, QA Madness, a1qa and QAble; of the three, QA Madness and a1qa also carry a nearshore tag, while QAble does not carry either one.

Performance engineering and the single-company tags

Performance engineering applies to two companies, QualityLogic and BugRaptors, and both belong to the group above that carries no nearshore tag. QualityLogic is also the only company on this page tagged Device lab coverage. BetterQA is the only company on this page tagged Regulated industries. That tag reads at least two verified certificates from a fixed list, and the way every applicability tag is read is set out in the ranking methodology. One company on this page has any verified certificate at all, which is why the group holds one name.

What the profiles do not report

None of the eight companies on this page has a published answer for signing a Business Associate Agreement or a GDPR data processing agreement, the largest gap among the fields tracked for this page. Certificates have no published answer for seven of the eight companies, and engagement models have no published answer for three of the eight. Client stages, case studies, published rates and external reviews each have a smaller gap than any other field on this list, with one company missing a published answer for each.

How this ranking was put together

Membership is computed from the profile, not chosen: companies appear here when they list WebdriverIO among the frameworks and tools they work with, as their own profile states. Position in a ranking cannot be bought. Paid options are limited to the extended profile, labelled sponsor slots and lead forms, and none of them affect tags or order.

The table compares the fields that decide this axis: case studies, published rates, team size, plus the number of verified reviews on external platforms. Rates, minimum project size and onboarding time carry the source they came from next to the value.

  • Automation first: Test automation is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a coverage or regression time metric.
  • Nearshore for the EU: At least one delivery location in the EU or the EEA, or in Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia or Moldova.
  • Embedded team model: The dedicated team engagement model is offered, and at least one published case study.
  • Nearshore for the USA: At least one delivery location in Canada, Mexico, Central America or South America.
  • Performance engineering: Performance testing is offered as a service, and at least one published case study reports a throughput or latency metric.
  • Security focus: Security testing is offered, together with either penetration testing or a verified ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, and at least one published case study.
  • Device lab coverage: A published device lab of 100 real devices or more, with a source.
  • Regulated industries: At least two verified certificates from ISO 13485, HITRUST CSF, PCI QSA and ISO/IEC 27001.

The criteria for this axis are on the methodology page, together with field definitions and the rule for editorial order. Changes of order are recorded in the changelog.

Questions

Our product is a mobile app. Does a vendor listed against this framework already run tests on real handsets?
Only one of them shows it. This framework drives web and mobile targets from a single entry, so its presence on a profile settles neither side. Seven of the eight vendors compared here also name a second automation framework built only for native and hybrid mobile apps, which is as far as the tooling record goes. Hardware is recorded separately, as a counted and sourced device lab, and one profile out of the eight carries that count. That profile is not among the six selling mobile app testing as a service, so the service claim and the device count never land on the same row.
We are past the startup phase and nowhere near enterprise scale. Does anything published say who works with companies our size?
One profile names that stage. Seven of the eight vendors publish the client stages they serve: five name startups, two name enterprise accounts and nothing else, and exactly one names the stage between the two alongside both of them. The eighth publishes no stage at all. A buyer at either end of that range reads a direct answer from most of the composition, and a buyer in the middle reads one. The field records the stages a vendor states it serves, and it carries no headcount or budget behind those words.
Our product ships as a desktop web app and as a mobile app, and both need covering. Would one vendor cover both?
Four of the eight sell both. Cross-browser compatibility testing and mobile app testing appear together on four profiles, one sells compatibility testing without mobile app testing, two sell mobile app testing without compatibility testing, and one sells neither. The shared framework entry runs across both targets, so it separates none of those four groups; the service lists do. A buyer who needs both halves under one contract is choosing from half the composition, and the other half covers one target and leaves the second to somebody else.

How to choose a vendor on this axis

Every fact about a company comes from a listed source. A field without a source stays empty. A certificate counts as confirmed only when a registry, certificate or auditor report backs it; a certificate the company only claims about itself is published separately, under that label. Vendors can request a correction at hello@qa-rating.com. A correction is applied when it comes with a public source.
